The Method and Apparatus of Biological High Efficiency Wastewater Treatment Using the Contacting Media for Activated Sludge

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus of biological high efficiency wastewater treatment using biological contact media are provided, which are characterized in that biological contact media provides sufficient specific surface area for microorganism, and activates propagation of microorganism for floc formation by supplying minerals. Therefore settling of sludge is promoted. CONSTITUTION: According to the method, the apparatus comprises a screen(10) for removing adulterated thing; a reservoir(20) for controlling flow rate; an aeration tank(30) for treating wastewater by using biological contact media; a sedimentation tank(40) for settling sludge and recycling sludge to the aeration tank(30); and a tank(50) for reaction of recycled sludge and biological contact media. Component of the biological contact media is 40-60 wt.% of ocher mixture(45-55 wt.% of SiO2, 25-30 wt.% of Al2O3, 10-15 wt.% of Fe2O3, 0.3-0.5 wt.% of boron, 0.5-0.6 wt% of NaCl, 0.2-0.3 wt.% of MgSO4, and 0.5-0.6 wt.% of agar), 4-6 wt.% of activated carbon powder, 30-50 wt.% of elvan powder, and 4-6 wt.% of mud.
