CONSTITUTION: In a method for controlling thickness of the tail-end part of a hot rolled strip in which thickness of the tail-end part of the hot rolled strip(1) is controlled when hot rolling a strip(1) using a finish rolling mill comprising a plurality of stands(F1-F7), the method comprises a step in which rolling force is inputted from a plurality of stands(F2-F4) of the front end part in a plurality of stands(F1-F7) arranged in the rolling order of the hot rolled strip(1); a step in which roll gap correction amounts are calculated by operating rolling conditions inputted from SCC(supervisory control computer)(10) and the rolling force inputted from the stands(F2- F4) of the front end part; and a step in which rolling force applied to the hot rolled strip(1) is controlled by controlling roll gaps of a plurality of stands(F6-F7) of the tail-end part of the finish rolling mill using the calculated roll gap correction amounts.
