Isolation of Bacillus licheniformis having antifungal activities against phytopathogens and determination of condition for producing antifungal substance

PURPOSE: Provided are isolation of Bacillus licheniformis having antifungal activities against phytopathogens and determination of condition for producing antifungal substances which inhibit the growth of mycelium of phytopathogens, such as Colletotrichum coccides, Colletotrichum acutatum, Phytophthora capsici and the like. CONSTITUTION: Novel strain, Bacillus licheniformis(KACC 91004) has antifungal activity. It can be cultured by inoculating Bacillus licheniformis(KACC 91004) into a liquid medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source and inorganic source then culturing it at pH 3-10, 10-60 deg.C for 20 hours or more. Plant fungal disease caused by Colletotrichum coccides, Colletotrichum acutatum and Phytophthora capsici can be controlled by the novel strain and its culture solution.
