PURPOSE: To provide a high-solid antifouling coating material having excellent antifouling property and coating film properties and meeting the environmental and resource-saving requirements. CONSTITUTION: The antifouling coating material contains a varnish of a metal- containing acrylic resin having at least one group expressed by formula (1) (X is a group of formula (2) (n) is 0 or 1 Y is a hydrocarbon group M is a metal (m) is an integer equal to the valence of the metal M minus 1 and A is an organic acid residue of a monobasic acid).
