Polymerization of Ethylene with Specific Iron or Cobalt Complexes Novel Pyridinebisimines and Novel Complexes of Pyridinebisimines with Iron and Cobalt

By contacting it with certain iron or cobalt complexes of selected 2,6-ethylene pyridine carboxaldehyde aldehyde bis (imine) and 2,6-diacyl pyridine-bis (imine) it may be polymerized with ethylene. The polymers produced are useful as molding resins. In addition, the novel 2,6-pyridine carboxaldehyde aldehyde bis (imine) and 2,6-diacyl pyridine-bis (imine), and 2,6-pyridine carboxaldehyde aldehyde bis (imine) and 2,6-diacyl pyridine complex of the bis (imine) with iron and cobalt are also disclosed.
