The device has a vacuum housing with at least one metal component (1a,1b,5) with a region bounding on the vacuum existing in the vacuum housing during operation of the electron tube with a coating (S1,S2) of a higher thermal absorption coefficient than the uncoated metal . The higher thermal absorption coefficient coating has a layer of tantalum applied to the metal material and a layer of carbon applied to the tantalum.
