The cross flow fan has at least one air inlet orifice, and includes an impeller (2), and at least one separating device between a suction side and a delivery side of the fan. The separating device cooperates with the impeller, and an air guide device (13) reduces a flow-around path of the at least one separating device. The air guide device is formed by a cover plate (14) which covers the at least one separating device on the suction side. The cover plate is adjacent to the air inlet orifice.
