The sailing rig includes at least one of the guy ropes (16, 18) running freely through the mast (3), and fixed at the other side of the yacht (1) or of the mast to arms (17, 19) of the cross-trees (9, 10). This creates a considerable addition to the lateral rigidity of the mast, imparting better sailing properties to the yacht.
