The contact set has a switch shaft (6) rotated about a transverse axis (4) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (8) of each switch pole and provided with a rotary contact bridge (10) received in a seating (12) of the switch shaft extending along the longitudinal direction, cooperating with stationary contacts (16) via diametrically opposing contact pieces (14). The rotary contact bridge is acted on by contact force springs (20,21) within the switch shaft, with rotation of the contact bridge against the force of these springs by the electrodynamic force resulting from a short-circuit, one end of each spring received in an elongate slot (26) in the contact bridge and provided with a sliding element (28) cooperating with a control cam (32).
