Selective isolation of antibody (Ab) isotypes from the yolk of poultry eggs comprising: (a) preparing an aqueous yolk fraction; (b) recovering most of one isotype by salting out; and (c) salting out a second isotype from the remaining aqueous solution, where the salts added are non-denaturing and if the same salt is used in both steps, then its concentration must be different in the two stages, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) separating egg yolk antibodies; (2) an immunoglobulin (Ig) Y DELTA Fc antibody (Ab1), essentially free of at least the Fc-like region, produced by the new methods; (3) immunizing humans by administering a composition containing Ab1 bound to a carrier; and (4) immunoassay kit containing Ab1.
