Electrical component used as a negative temperature coefficient resistor has a base body with a stack of overlapping electrically conducting electrode layers separated from each other by electrically conducting ceramic layers
Electrical component has a base body (1) with a stack of overlapping electrically conducting electrode layers (3) separated from each other by electrically conducting ceramic layers (10). Ceramic of the ceramic layers has a specific electrical resistance having a negative temperature coefficient. The ceramic layers are made from ceramic green films that are sintered together with the electrode layers. Outer electrodes (2) are arranged on two opposite-lying outer surfaces of the base body and are electrically connected to the electrode layers. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of an electrical component. Preferred Features: The B-value of the ceramic describing the temperature progression of the specific resistance is larger than 4000 K. The outer electrodes are applied to the base body by screen printing.
