In a steam or hot water generator coolant streams are parallel U- or W-shaped tubes, forming a finned heating face. On the water side they are coupled to a fin holding tube. To relieve the outlet cross-section of the fin holding tube, the water side of the latter is coupled to a header via a relief tube. In the fin holding tube, directly above the relief tube coupling point, is fitted a throttle disc for dividing the mass stream from the fin tubes.
