PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a work object lens upward from a polishing wheel in a proper position. ;SOLUTION: When a finish of work is recognized, a work object lens 14a is rotated up to a condition where an origin position, that is, a nose side central part P00 contacts with a polishing wheel 180. A time count is started from this origin position, and it is made to wait for time necessary to rotate up to condition where a point P02 contacts with the polishing wheel 180, and when a position of the point P02 comes, an upward cutting operation command is issued. In this way, when the work object lens 14a comes to a position where a back face position, that is, an eyebrow side central part P01 almost contacts with the plishing wheel 180, the work object lens 14a rises in its timing, and moves up to a lens edge stopping position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
