PURPOSE: To provide a rewinding machine to manufacture a log of a coreless web material capable of starting winding the log safely and with reliability. ;CONSTITUTION: A rewinding machine to manufacture a log R of a coreless web material N comprises a first winding roller 1 to which the web material N is supplied, a second winding roller 3 rotated in the same direction as the first roller 1 and forming a nip 4 through which the web material N passes, devices 15, 17 to cause the surface of the second winding roller 3 to move toward the first roller 1, and a device to cut the web material N at the end of the winding thereof to form the log R.
