PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule for stud arc welding, a ferrule that can nearly uniformize a molten metal on the upper and the lower part of a stud, even in the case where the stud is welded to a base material comprising a near perpendicular plane.;SOLUTION: In the ferrule for stud arc welding, which is formed with a space 12 having a diameter larger than a stud inserting hole 15, and which is also formed with a degassing groove 14 in the part of a circumferential wall 11 surrounding this space 12, the distribution range of the degassing groove 14 is set in the angular range of 70-110°, while the rate of area of the degassing groove 14 is set at 20-80% relative to the space 12a where the degassing groove 14 is distributed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
