PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asset management system capable of performing a precise asset management.;SOLUTION: This asset management system comprises a plurality of gate type detectors 30 arranged by sections for storing and managing assigned assets 10 of asset identification information and an asset management server 50, which are mutually connected through a network. The gate type detector 30 detects the asset identification information of an asset passed through the gate type detector 30 and transmits the detected information to the asset management server 50. The asset management server 50 receives the asset identification information transmitted from the detector 30 and specifies the storage section of the detector 30 that is the transmitter.
