PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vitreous antimicrobial agent exhibiting a high antimicrobial property by blending with various resins and also excellent in discoloration resistance, hot water resistance, etc.;SOLUTION: The vitreous antimicrobial agent having a specific composition which contains ZnO in high concentration and which is obtained by properly adjusting contents of Ag₂O, SiO₂, B₂O₃, alkaline earth metal oxide and Na₂O has the high antimicrobial property and also excellent hot water resistance and discoloration resistance. The vitreous antimicrobial agent contains 0.1-5 mass% Ag₂O, 60-70 mass% ZnO, 5-10 mass% SiO₂, 1-10 mass% alkaline earth metal oxide and 6-15 mass% Na₂O.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
