PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assisting device for going up and down the stairs of a wheelchair, etc., capable of heightening the stability in supporting the wheelchair by structuring its supporting mechanism integrated with the front and rear wheels of the wheelchair and embodying inexpensively by simplifying a control mechanism and driving mechanism for keeping it horizontally.;SOLUTION: The assisting device for going up and down the stairs of the wheelchair, etc., is equipped with a pallet in a plane shape having a sufficient area for placing of the wheelchair, etc., front wheels installed at the forefront of the pallet, an elevating shaft penetrating in the vertical direction a shaft receptacle formed at the tail of the pallet, and a shaft driving mechanism including a horizontal switch and a motor mounted on the pallet and moving the elevating shaft through a bevel gear transmission line with the regular and reverse rotations of the motor being controlled from the horizontal switch, whereby the elevation and sink are made using the escalator while the pallet whereon the wheelchair, etc., is placed is kept in the horizontal condition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
