PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing device of existence of cable disconnection and a test method of existence of the cable disconnection capable of testing with high reliability on a neutron detector and a test of existence of the cable disconnection. SOLUTION: In this device for monitoring the output of a nuclear reactor by installing the neutron detector 31 in the reactor core 1 and measuring neutrons, characteristic deterioration or the like of the neutron detector 31 is inspected periodically, and the connection state of a connection line positioned in the nuclear reactor of the neutron detector 31 is confirmed. In the confirmation, rays are detected by the neutron detector 31, and the detection signal is amplified by a ray signal amplifier 7, and it is determined whether a plateau characteristic exists or a resistance characteristic exists from the signal by a cable connection determination circuit 8, to thereby determine existence of the disconnection.
