PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely detect a light intensity of a laser beam emitted from a VCSEL. ;SOLUTION: There are provided a VCSEL 21, a single-lens device having a main lens 110 with a positive power on which a necessary beam LP, including an optical axis light LX in a dispersive laser beam, is incident; one or more reflecting means 120 which are integrally formed on the light-emitting side surface of the lens device and reflect at least a part of the peripheral laser beam, incident on the outside of the main lens part 110, toward the VCSEL side; one or more light-converging means 130 which make the peripheral laser beam parts converge, reflected by the reflecting means and emitted from the lens device toward the VCSEL side; and one or more monitoring photodetectors 22, which receive the peripheral laser beam parts converged by the converging means as monitoring lights LM, and convert the lights NM into electrical signals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
