PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a groundwater sampling method which can selectively sample groundwater from a plurality of aquifers in a single well of a simple structure.;SOLUTION: According to the method, a pipe 10 and a water sampling container 20 are provided. The pipe 10 has a length extending across the plurality of aquifers 5, 7, and has its lower edge closed, with strainers formed over its peripheral surface like a mesh. The water sampling container 20 has its upper and lower surfaces closed, and has an O ring 23 with expandable/contractible elasticity formed on a peripheral surface thereof. Further, the container has a strainer formed on its peripheral surface like a mesh, and its outer diameter conform to an internal diameter of the pipe 10. Then, a bored hole 1 having an inner diameter larger than the pipe 10 is excavated in the ground, and the pipe 10 is inserted into the bored hole, followed by alternately laminating a water permeable material 8 and a cutoff material 9 on each other in a gap between the pipe and the bored hole 1, to thereby form the well 2. Further, the water sampling container 20 is inserted into the pipe 10 such that the O ring 23 is brought into elastic contact with the pipe 10, and an inserting location is set at a depth enclosed by the water permeable material 8 present in the desired aquifer 5, whereby water can be sampled in the water sampling container 20 via the water permeable material 8, the pipe 10 and the strainer of the water sampling container 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
