PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption, to save the space inside a circuit and to automatically and adaptively provide a reliable start sequence. ;SOLUTION: A subvoltage generation unit generating at least one voltage and a voltage multiplier are provided and the voltage multiplier is controlled by switching the voltage multiplier to a direct mode during a start time. This invention is also related to an arrangement for driving a display device, the display device including such an arrangement, an electronic apparatus provided in the display device displaying image data including the constitution driving a display unit, and a method for starting circuit arrangement including the subvoltage generation unit, the voltage multiplier and a start control unit. While simultaneously and effectively utilizing available current and space, in order to enable the quick and reliable start of such circuit arrangement, the voltage multiplier is switched to the direct mode by means of an initial start signal during an adaptive start time, the variation of an activation signal generated in the start control unit is monitored and the control of the voltage multiplier is considered according to it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
