PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck having jaws that grapple a work having a step by one chucking in an NC lathe, the work having a step of 8 mm or more in outer diameter, and the jaws grappling both diameters of a complex work having a larger and a smaller outer diameter beyond the larger outer diameter.;SOLUTION: The jaws are divided into a parent jaw and a child jaw, a fulcrum for supporting the child jaw is formed in the parent jaw, the small jaw is rotatably held about the fulcrum, the large outer diameter can be firstly grappled and the small outer diameter can be then grappled by moving the small jaw.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
