PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for cutting cast slabs, which enables producing most appropriate cast slabs in consideration of an order delivery time in case an actual quantity of molten steel differs from that of a planned quantity, as well as it enables producing cast slabs to the ordered length even with excessively produced cast slabs, in producing cast slabs through a continu ous casting machine.;SOLUTION: The control apparatus 2 for cutting a continuously cast slab is characterized in comprising: a production assignment data information memory unit 3 which stores production assignment data accompanied by information on the delivery time of the order; an unassigned slab information memory unit 4 which stores width and length information of slabs for production unassigned orders; a production assignment re-calculation unit 5 which re-calculates the production assignment data in case the actual quantity of molten steel differs from the planned quantity of molten steel; and a cutting assignment unit 6 which issues slab cutting assignment based on the re-calculation results by the production assignment re-calculation unit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
