PRODUCTION METHOD OF STAINLESS STEEL FRET WIRE FOR STRINGED INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS GUITAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of stainless steel fret wire for stringed instruments such as guitar for which a stainless steel fret with many merits like a good tone is easily obtained. ;SOLUTION: This method features that a rolling device is set up by arranging rolls 13, 14, 15, 16 crosswise in every direction and giving a T-shaped void which has the same head and leg portions in the center of those rolls as a cross-sectional configuration of a fret, and a stainless wire rod 22 is put through a void in the center of the rolling device to be rolled in the same cross-sectional configuration as that of a void, and annealed. The rolling and annealing processes on this wire rod are alternately reiterated several times. At the time of finish rolling, the cross-sectional configuration of the wire rod is processed to be the same as the prescribed cross-sectional configuration of a fret, the portion to become a leg portion of a fret is rolled using a roll with recessed portions at a predetermined interval on the outer circumference to form protrusions on the side of the portion which becomes its leg portion, and a final annealing process is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
