PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the degree of freedom to calculation of a tool track by automating selection of a groove working method and also shortening a time needed to calculate the tool track. ;SOLUTION: If a side face SR of a rib groove 1 is a curved surface, it is selected to be subjected to cutting working, if the side face SR is a flat surface, it is selected to be subjected to electrical discharge machining. Further, the depth of the rib groove 1 is compared with the length Lt of a tool, and a function for selecting a working method that selects cutting working if the depth of the rib groove 1 is smaller than the length Lt of the tool, and selects electrical discharge machining if the depth is larger than the length Lt, and an NC working program for groove cutting for calculating the highest position Zmax of the rib groove 1 in height on the basis of a neutral surface CS when cutting working is selected and for cutting the rib groove 1 by connecting respective tool tracks in respective depth positions Z when the tool is lowered by a cutting pitch DZ at a time in the depth direction of the rib groove, starting from the highest position Dmax of the rib groove 1 in height to the bottom position Zmin of the rib groove 1 are produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
