The invention provides a GDP-mannose-pyrophosphorylase, which is suitable for use in continuous multiple stage processes. The mannose- or mannose-derivative-specific GDP-mannose-prophosphorylase, which can be isolated from microorganisms, has a specific activeity of2U/mg, is prepared.
