Compounds of formula I wherein Ar is unsubstituted or monosubstituted phenyl or naphthyl with R 3, R 4 and R 2 are each independently H, A, AO, Hal or CF ^ 3 ^, R ^ 3 ^ is A, AO, Hal or CF ^ 3 ^, A is alkyl having 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 carbon atoms and Hal is F, CI, Br or I and the physiologically acceptable salts and solvates thereof as inhibitors of NHE-3.
