The method involves forming embossed pattern (5) of flute portions (6) at an angle to each other and intersection (7) of the flute portions in a single operation. The metal sheet is clamped from opposite sides outside the embossed pattern and held in place so that embossed pattern is produced as a result of stretching. The separately pressed embossed patterns are joined together in the areas of the flute portions.
