The invention relates to a composition for uniformly dying wool and polyamide, consisting of: 20...30% ethoxylated nonylphenol with 40 moles of ethylene epoxide, 5...10% oleic acid amide with diethanolamine in a molar ratio of 1:2 and 60...75% water. Said composition is applied by using a dyeing process with a dye bath comprising 0.2...1 g/l composition claimed by the invention, added at the beginning of the dying process, together with the colouring agent, at the boiling temperature, for 30...60 min., at a pH=4.5...6. There is provided a modification of the tinctorial equilibrium and the obtaining of uniform dying even in the case of using colouring agents with various exhausting speeds.
