The trapping of water biological contaminants for analysis involves using the capacity for adsorption of proteins of fluorinated polymers, such as PVDF. The organisms removed, e.g. viruses, bacteria, and pathogenic protozoa, can be recovered for epidemiological and quantitative analysis.
