METHOD OF SCHEMATIC-LEVEL AMS TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION USING DIRECT REPRESENTATIONS

A method of designing AMS circuits comprises representing circuit designcandidatesusing direct representations such as hyper graphs and storing the directrepresentations in adatabase. An optimizer operates on the database of circuit design candidatesusing anapplication programming interface to identify optimal circuit designcandidates. Views ofthe circuits, such as schematic or layout views, are provided to a designer.An interfacesuch as a graphical user interface, allows the designer to manipulate thecircuit designcandidates with corresponding updates to the database during the optimizationprocess sothat further optimization steps are based on the updated directrepresentations in thedatabase that result from the designer's manipulations of the displayedcircuit designcandidates.
