IP FLOW DISCOVERY FOR IP PROBE AUTO-CONFIGURATION AND SLA MONITORING

Methods and systems are provided for identifying the flow of data between asource and destination in a network. A pair of flow monitors (150, 160) mayidentify a plurality of data packets flowing between a pair of measuringpoints (170, 180) in a network. The flow monitors may then compare addressinformation of each identified data packet. When the flow monitors identifymatching addresses through the comparison, the addresses of the correspondingdata packets are associated with the flow between the measuring points. Oncethe flow between the pair of measuring points is identified, the flow monitorsmay compare the header information of the data packets associated with theflow to determine the direction of the flow between the measuring points.
