INCLUSION COMPLEXES OF SEMICARBAZONES INTO CYCLODETRINS AND USES THEREOF

The present invention is characterized by the preparation of semicarbazoneand/or thiosemicarbazone formulations with cyclodextrins and their derivativesand products obtained by this process. The present invention is characterizedby obtaining inclusion compounds of semicarbazone and/or thiosemicarbazoneswith cyclodextrins and their derivatives, which were tested in experimentalepilepsy models and allowed the reduction of the anticonvulsant dose from100mg/kg. This means an improvement in the bioavailability of the compounds inbiological systems. These results obtained in animal models makesemicarbazones and/or thiosemicarbazones included in cyclodextrins and theirderivatives new anticonvulsant candidates. The present invention is alsocharacterized by the improved efficacy of semicarbazones and/orthiosemicarbazones included in cyclodextrins and their derivatives incomparison to free components. In addition the present invention is alsocharacterized by the pain killer effect of semicarbazones andthiosemicarbazones. The present invention is also characterized by a loweringof the dose necessary for the pain killer effect of semicarbazones andthiosemicarbazones upon inclusion into cyclodextrins.
