The inventive reduction method for recovering rare-earth metals from fluorides thereof used for producing alloys consists in blending a batch, transporting and loading the prepared batch into a reaction crucible, initiating a metallothermic reaction, thereby producing the melt of metallic and slug phases, cooling and unloading obtained products. In 3-7 minutes after the initiation of the metallothermic reaction, the obtained melt is isolated from the environment with the aid of a metallic lid until the cooling is over, the walls thereof are exposed to dynamic action during 2-3 minutes. The batch for recovering the rare-earth metals from the fluorides thereof using the metallothermic method contains: Aluminium powder 1-25 mass % Metal calcium 25-35 mass % Preheating additive 14-35 mass % Calcium fluoride 1-10 mass % The rest being fluorides of rare-earth metals.
