FIELD: extraction of rare-earth metals from their fluorides for making alloys by preparing charge of fluorides, aluminum powder, metallic calcium and additive. SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of preparing charge by introducing into it oxide additive and in addition - calcium fluoride; in three-seven minutes after initiating metallothermic reaction, closing melt formed in crucible with metallic lid in order to separate it from environmental atmosphere until termination of cooling; at closing crucible with lid simultaneously subjecting its circumferential walls to dynamic actions for two-three minutes. Charge for extracting rare-earth metals from their fluorides by metallothermic process includes rare-earth metal fluorides, aluminum powder, metallic calcium and additive. Charge includes in addition calcium fluoride and also oxide additive at next relation of ingredients (mass%): aluminum powder -(1-25); metallic calcium - (25-35); oxide additive - (14-35); calcium fluoride - (1-10); rare-earth metal fluorides - the balance.
