The invention relates to a labelling station for objects, in particular bottles, having rotating withdrawing elements (2) mounted on a rotating support. On each rotation of the support the withdrawal elements move past stationary stations (15, 16, 19) which are arranged on the periphery of the support. The withdrawing elements move synchronously on rolling contact of their bearing surfaces (5) with the stations, during which they are coated with glue and supply a label to a label transfer station. The driving mechanism of the withdrawing elements (2) is a cam drive with sets of engaging members (24, 25, 29, 30) arranged in two superimposed planes. The engaging members are in mesh with a double cam (20a, 20b) which is in mesh with lantern pinions (24, 25, 29, 30). The driving mechanism is so configured that, excepting short transition areas of the engaging members, only two engaging members are in mesh. One engaging member has a longer active lever arm than all the other engaging members; this engaging member (25) is, in addition, in torque-effective driving mesh with the double cam (20a, 20b) in the initial phase of the rolling movement of the bearing surface against the stations.
