A lifting insert (1) for prefabricated concrete components (2) with a bracket (10) for increasing the shearing strength thereof. The insert (1) can be embedded in the body of the component (2) proximate to one of the faces of the component so that one (3) of its ends protrudes, or is otherwise accessible, from the face of the component so that it can be engaged by lifting means (4). The bracket (10) of the insert (1) comprises at least one brace (11), which is connected to the insert (1) and can also be embedded in the body of the component (1). The brace (11) is constituted by a lamina that wraps around the insert (1) in a scarf-like fashion with one (11a) of its portions.
