PURPOSE: Provided are Petroselinum crispum (mill.) extract used for protecting liver cell, and preventing and treating liver damage, and a composition containing the same as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: The Petroselinum crispum (mill.) extract is obtained by extraction with lower alcohol as an extraction solvent, protects live cells and has prevention and treatment effects on liver damage, wherein the lower alcohol is characteristically ethanol. The pharmaceutical composition contains the ethanol extract of Petroselinum crispum (mill.) as an active ingredient for the prevention and treatment of liver damage.
