The present invention provides a barrier laminate (10) having a barrier layer (12) and a loft crimped fiber nonwoven web layer (14) that provides resilience, such as foam, textured texture and liquid barrier properties. The barrier layer of the laminate is selected from films, microfibrous nonwoven webs and laminates thereof, and the crimped fibrous web layer containing the structural fiber component and the thermally activatable adhesive component has a substantially uniformly distributed interfiber bond. In addition, a thermoformed article 22 and a thermoforming method for producing the article from the laminate are provided.
