Acinetobacter calcoaceticus HS1 and Oil Degradation Method Using The Same

PURPOSE: A microorganism, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus HS1, capable of decomposing oils and a method for decomposing oils using the same microorganism are provided, thereby effectively and safely removing the contaminated oils from the soil or sea. CONSTITUTION: The microorganism, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus HS1(KCTC 8994P), capable of decomposing oils is isolated by collecting soils from the oil-contaminated regions; cultivating a minimal salt medium(MSM) containing diesel for 10 days; spreading the cultivated medium on a tryptic soy broth agar(TSBA) and cultivating it; isolating colonies grown and inoculating them into a separate medium containing diesel; and selecting a microorganism showing excellent oil-decomposability. The oil contaminated soil or sea is disposed by inoculating the microorganism, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus HS1, capable of decomposing oils into the soil or sea.
