An integrated electro-optic package for reflective spatial light modulators

An array of reflective LCSLM pixels is formed on the substrate with the optical polarization layers positioned in an array overlapping relationship. The light source is mounted to an optical clear support located in an overlapping and spaced relationship from the array such that the light evenly illuminates the array through the support and penetrates the light reflected from the array through the support. The electrical connections run from the array through the leads of the support to external contacts. Diffusers are mounted overlapping and spaced apart on the support to form an image plane for reflected light from the array.
