PURPOSE: A 2 dimensional bar code data recognition method is provided to code data by using bar codes with 0-9 size of length difference for enabling to express more data, and to enhance a correctness of decoding with small sized bar code pattern and a data density of the bars. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of obtaining an image including bar codes by a CCD camera, performing an A/D conversion on the obtained image and setting an interest area, specially the area of the bar codes(ST110), converting the interest area into binary image by using a histogram(ST120), eliminating noises from the interest area by using an LPF(Low Pass Filter) or Median filter(ST130), compensating for skewed state of the bar codes caused at a print(ST140), extracting black bars from the interest area(ST150), extracting standard bars to calculate the value of the bars(ST160), calculating the value of the bars by comparing the bars with the standard bar(ST170), allocating a code to the bars according to the relative size and sort(ST180), and checking an error caused at a transmission(ST190).
