Cutting blades(8,9) are supported on a bell-shaped carrier(10) and angled to the radial direction. The internal chamber(24) of the blade carrier connects with an intermediate annular chamber(26) between the blade carrier and the nozzle plate(4). Coolant is fed from the blade carrier chamber to the intermediate chamber from where it is extracted with granules. Preferred Features: The intermediate chamber is enclosed by an annular plate(7) mounted on the blade carrier(10). Individual blades in the form of rigid strips are held in passages in the annular plate and extend down to and contact the nozzle plate at an angle. Blades are also at an angle to the rotation direction and blade angle is set to create minimum flow resistance. Blades can be adjusted relative to the nozzle plate by a compression mechanism to compensate for wear. The radial breadth covered by the blades is slightly greater than the nozzle diameter.
