The vehicle has rear axle springing containing a steel plate spring. Weak plate springs take up only part of the rear axle load, the remainder of the load being taken up by air bellows (3) mounted immediately to the rear of the rear axle. The plate springs are parabolic springs. Each air bellows has an associated compensation air tank (4).
