Resonant column device for determination of dynamic soil characterizing numbers for porous rock samples under free-free conditions over a large stress range. Accordingly the soil sample, the excitation mechanism, the measurement probe as well as the positioning system are arranged in a pressure vessel that allows a continuous isotropic or anisotropic experimental stressing of the soil sample.
