Production system for manufacturing chip cards comprises a print machine with a sensor unit for testing for the correct throughput of cards along a conveyor belt. The sensor unit comprises at least one sensor and a sensor strip (2) that is detachably stuck to the conveyor belt (6) perpendicular to the transport direction. Optimally the strip is configured as a reflecting aluminum strip. It has magnets (3) at each end that attach to matching magnets (4) on the conveyor belt.
