Device to set tension of paper web fed through printing unit using friction brake with braking roller driven according to detected tension of paper web

Braking device (FB) ensures tension of paper web (4) in transport path through printing unit. Braking unit has a friction brake with a braking roller (2) wrapped around by the paper so that friction occurs between the roller and paper. The friction force is set so that correct tension of the paper is maintained. Tension of paper over loop pull unit (SZ) is measured to regulate the friction force of the braking roller.
