The measuring method has the flow medium fed along a measuring pipe (2), a magnetic field (B) provided orthogonal to the flow direction, with detection of the voltage (U0) induced in the flow medium via electrodes (3,3'), insulated from the flow medium by the wall of the measuring pipe. A capacitance is provided between the electrodes and the inside wall of the measuring pipe, with determination of the induced voltage from its capacitance variation.
