The method involves using an inductive sensor (1) in a resonant circuit (10) by feeding a first periodic signal into the resonant circuit, changing the resonant frequency of the circuit by feeding a second signal into the circuit, detecting a resonant state in the circuit and analyzing the second signal using the detected resonant state. An independent claim is also included for the following: a cooker point with glass ceramic with an inductive sensor for detecting pots.
